Emergency services were alerted to the blaze at Thompson Terrace at around 8.45pm, after blinds were set alight from a nearby candle. Three appliances – two from Fraserburgh and one from Maud – were called to the scene, with 16 firefighters on board. However, a neighbour had managed to extinguish the blaze by the time emergency services arrived. Police and ambulance service were also at the site and two people were treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation.
