Regions in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire have been declared at risk of flooding today by a national environmental group.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has issued a category amber flood alert for much of the city and shire due to intense rainfall today.
The heavy rain is expected to continue through much of the day all along the eastern Aberdeenshire coastline until the early evening, and flooding is expected in the Granite City itself.
In a statement, SEPA said that it is possible water levels in small rivers are expected to rise as a a result.
The statement added: “Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property.
