Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire have been declared at risk of flooding today by a national environmental group.
The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has issued a category amber flood alert for much of the city and shire due to intense rainfall today.
Caithness and Sutherland are also on alert.
Heavy rain is expected to continue through much of the day all along the coast and inland until the early evening, and flooding is possible in the City itself.
In a statement, SEPA said: “Prolonged and intense rainfall expected throughout Tuesday has increased the flood risk in the region, with smaller watercourses expected to rise as a result.
The statement added: “Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property.
