A north-east social worker faces a professional conduct hearing following claims he behaved inappropriately towards a client and a colleague.

Gordon Keddie has been called before the Scottish Social Services Council’s (SSSC) conduct sub-committee accused of a series of charges, which are alleged to have taken place between September 2010 and November 2011, while he was employed at Aberdeen City Council.

The charges include forming an inappropriate personal relationship with one of his clients.

On one occasion, Mr Keddie is accused of sending a text message to a client asking her if she had been “skinny dipping” in Stonehaven.

In addition, between September 2010 – 2011, Mr Keddie is also accused of behaving inappropriately towards a female colleague, upsetting her as a result.

On several instances, Mr Keddie commented on what she was wearing and told her she looked nice.

During one specific incident in September 2010, he is alleged to have made a crude remark to her.

During another conversation in September 2011, when she told Mr Keddie that she liked to watch football, he is accused of saying he “liked to watch her” in response.

Mr Keddie will attend a hearing in Dundee later this month when a panel will decide whether he is guilty of the charges and breached the SSSC code of practice.

Last night, a spokeswoman for Aberdeen City Council said: “Mr Keddie no longer works for Aberdeen City Council.”
