No Royal Mail deliveries in Aberdeen on bank holiday Monday By Stephen Walsh August 26 2015, 6:10 am August 26 2015, 6:10 am Share No Royal Mail deliveries in Aberdeen on bank holiday Monday Share via Facebook Twitter Whatsapp Messenger Linkedin Email Post link https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/aberdeen-aberdeenshire/677604/undefined-headline-1159/ Copy Link No post on Monday Residents of the north-east are being advised that there will be no mail delivery on the August Bank Holiday. Royal Mail staff traditionally deliver post that day, instead taking September 28 off. It means there will be no deliveries in the AB postcode area – which includes Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Keith and Buckie in Moray – on Monday. A full service will be provided on September 28. The new holiday falls in line with the majority of the UK and most businesses in Scotland. Royal Mail put forward the proposals to ensure staff across the organisation were subject to the same bank holidays. The decision to switch days was taken following a recent vote by local staff who voted in favour of the change. Royal Mail has written to its business customers locally about the change.
