A lifeboat and coastguard team have been scrambled to rescue a fishing vessel which has run aground near a north-east fishing village.
Peterhead lifeboat was launched shortly before 9.30am after the small boat set off an emergency beacon near Slains Castle, Cruden Bay.
Two holidaymakers were found clinging to near-by rocks before the lifeboat rescued them and took them to shore.
The men are reportedly uninjured.
A spokesman for the Coastguard confirmed a specialist land rescue team had joined the operation.
He said: “A small vessel has reportedly broken down and washed up against rocks north of Cruden Bay so the lifeboat has been tasked to assisted along with a coastguard team.”
The incident is ongoing.
