First Minister Alex Salmond will help a group of Aberdeen charity workers stage their own version of the Commonwealth Games baton relay this week.
Mr Salmond will take the baton from Cornhill Hospital to Aberdeen University Rowing Club on Wednesday as it completes the north-east leg of its Scottish tour.
The Glasgow games symbol arrived in Aberdeen on Friday and has visited landmarks such as Woodend Hospital, the beach, Duthie Park and Aberdeen Sports Village.
Members of the Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) Scotland are transporting it over land and water for more than 2,500 miles over 92 days.
