A man who raped and sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl has been jailed for five years.
Despicable Michael Duncan,20, attacked the young woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, at an address in Aberdeen in March 2014.
The High Court in Edinburgh last month heard how Duncan subjected the woman to a terrifying ordeal and ignored her pleas for him to stop.
Duncan was finally brought to justice after police became aware of his crimes.
He was brought to justice and was convicted of sexual assault and rape following a trial. Sentence had been deferred in order for the court to obtain reports on his background.
Duncan, of Melgum Road, Tarland, Aberdeenshire, denied sexually assaulting and raping the girl on March 23 last year at a property in Aberdeen. However, a jury believed there was enough evidence available to prove that he had attacked the young woman.
On Friday, judge Lord Uist told Duncan that he had to impose a custodial sentence on him to mark the severity of the offences for which he had been convicted of.
He said: “You have been convicted of a most serious crime.” ends.
