Three women have been taken to hospital after a horror smash on an north-east road tonight.
A black Ford Fiesta careered off the Newhills to Bucksburn road at around 4.10pm before flipping several times and landing on its side in an adjacent farm field.
Smashed glass could be seen littering the field and the car was badly damaged with broken windows and a severely dented roof.
The car was travelling towards Bucksburn at the time of the incident and is thought to have smashed through roadside grass before finally coming to a stop a number of feet from the road.
Kind-hearted motorists stopped and helped the injured women out of the car before paramedics arrived to take them to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
One of the women is believed to have suffered “serious” injuries while the other two were less severely hurt.
The road was closed to traffic causing major delays on the busy commuter route for around an hour before being reopened.
