UPDATE: Woman sustains facial injuries after going off busy north-east road

Emergency services attended a crash scene this morning after a car went off a busy north-east road.

The vehicle left the road at 6.43am on the A975, Cruden Bay to Newburgh road.

Paramedics treated the female driver of the car at the scene for facial injuries.

The driver had been driving a silver Ford Fiesta when she lost control and left the carriageway.

There was mud spread across the road, and police directed traffic around the hazard.

The road has been cleared and traffic is moving normally.
