Visitors to an Aberdeenshire castle can waltz their way into autumn this month.
The 13th century Fyvie Castle is opening its doors for a tea dance featuring live music on Sunday, September 13.
The refurbished racquets court, dating from 1903, will provide the backdrop to the event, which will include a selection of freshly brewed teas, scones and preserves made in the castle kitchen with produce from the estate’s very own fruit garden.
Visitors will also be given a chance to wander through the castle and its scenic grounds – home to a host of legends and, some believe, ghosts.
Property manager Robert Lovie said: “We are looking forward to welcoming visitors to what we feel will be a highly enjoyable afternoon in an historic setting.
“We’re confident that our visitors will enjoy their afternoon tea as much as the dancing. However, we would urge visitors to book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.”
The castle has been in the ownership of the Preston, Meldrum, Seaton, Gordon and Forbes-Leith families through the years.
The event will run from 1.30pm until 4pm.
Tickets cost £10 for adults and can be booked online or from Fyvie Castle. All must be bought in advance.
