Plans have been tabled to create accommodation for students on a site originally planned to house a £35 million hotel.
The John Street site, plans for which included a ‘burlesque style restaurant’ is in the process of being sold.
Now the way could be cleared for plans for purpose-built student housing, which could lead to between 300 and 400 rooms being created.
The firm behind the proposed development, Knightsbridge Student Housing, has lodged a proposal of application notice.
The John Street site was formerly home to The Ambassador snooker club, which shut five years ago. A consultation will be held in Aberdeen Central Library on Wednesday, October 28.
