A woman was recovering in hospital last night after she was involved in an accident at a homeless facility in Aberdeen city centre.
Emergency services were called to Aberdeen Cyrenians’ Margaret House flats, in Crown Street, about 5.10pm.
The crews were responding to reports of a woman falling and injuring herself at the residential unit.
Two police cars and a van, as well as paramedic teams in a 4X4 and ambulance, all arrived at the scene a short time later.
A woman was subsequently taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
Some residents of the centre were forced to leave the property and wait outside in the wake of the incident.
One onlooker said she could not provide any details as to the circumstances of the incident but added that she hoped the injured woman was “doing alright”.
Officers were at the building for more than an hour while they carried out investigations.
An ambulance service spokeswoman was unable to confirm the full extent of the woman’s injuries but confirmed she had been taken to hospital after a fall.
It is not clear whether the woman lived at the residential facility, which provides a wide range of support and care services for up to 12 homeless people.
No one from the Cyrenians could be reached for comment last night.
