The family of a man whose death is being viewed as murder have released a statement following the start of the police investigation.
James Chadwick, 37, was found dead in a flat in Holland Street on Wednesday (September 9) last week.
His family’s statement said: “The death of James has come as a great shock to our family and everyone who knew him.
“He was a popular guy and would have been well known around Aberdeen City Centre.
“I would urge anyone who has any information or saw him recently to contact police.
“We would like to thank everyone for their kind messages and we would now ask that we are left alone to grieve in peace.”
Detectives investigating the murder have appealed directly to anyone who may have seen anything unusual around James’ home in Holland Street in Aberdeen between Monday, 31 August, and Tuesday, 1 September, to contact them.
