Fears that supermarket giant Morrisons might close some of theor north-east stores have been laid to rest.
The retailer announced last week that they were set to close as many as eleven stores across the UK as part of a cost cutting plan.
A 47% drop in half yearly profits before tax of £126m was reported by Morrisons .
Company bosses estimated that around 900 jobs would be shed as a result of the changes.
Morrisons currently have stores in Inverurie, Peterhead, Banchory and on King Street in Aberdeen.
Speculation was rife that any one of these stores could be targeted for savings.

The group declined to comment on when these stores will close their doors for good.
Chief executive David Potts said last week the decision was made “with great regret”, but added there was no way to make the affected stores “viable”.
He also admitted the supermarket chain faced a “long journey” to improve its fortunes, with pre-tax profits having almost halved in six months.
Morrisons also offloaded 140 M local convenience stores to entrepreneur Mike Greene as it bids concentrate on its larger supermarkets.
Mr Greene pledged there would be no job losses as a result of the deal.
