Two men have been charged in connection with the murder of an Aberdeen dad.
James Chadwick was found dead in his flat in the city’s Holland Street last Wednesday, after his family raised concerns they had not seen or heard from him for a week.
Police launched a major investigation, involving 30 detectives, and began scouring through CCTV to track the 37-year-old’s final movements.
Footage showed the father-of-one was last seen at his local corner shop on Hutcheon Street at 9.45pm on August 31.
Detectives – who believe Mr Chadwick may have lain in his flat for two or three days – were also investigating a disturbance in the Holland Street area on September 1, trying to pinpoint exactly where, and what happened.
Last night, they confirmed two people had been charged in connection with the father-of-one’s death.
The pair, aged 30 and 31, will appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court today.
A spokesman said: “Police can confirm that two men, aged 30 and 31, have been arrested and charged in connection with the murder of James Chadwick in the Holland Street area of Aberdeen.
“They are expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Friday, September 18.”
Mr Chadwick had been living in Aberdeen for several years, after moving up from the north-west of England.
His family described his death as a “great shock” and said he was a popular man who was well known around Aberdeen city centre.
Friends from his regular bar, the Market Arms, also paid tribute, saying he was “one of a kind”.
