A man injured in a crash in the north-east last week has tracked down the “angels” who may have helped save his life.
Christopher Boyle was involved in a smash on the B979 Stonehaven to Netherley road on Wednesday.
Before emergency services arrived at the scene, two women who came across the scene raced to help.
They clambered into his car and help his neck straight, worried he may have broken it, and did all they could to keep him conscious until paramedics arrived and took him to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Luckily Mr Boyle was not seriously injured, and suffered whiplash and a severe cut to his head.
His relieved sister Stacey, launched an online search to find the kind-hearted pair so her family could thank them for their bravery.
Her appeal was shared more than 60,000 times over the weekend, and last night she confirmed the family had managed to track down the women, known only as Victoria and Jo, to thank them for their good deed.
Miss Boyle said: “This certainly has had a happy ending, we have now spoken to the two women, Victoria, Jo, and the paramedic Simon.
“They are genuinely such lovely humble people who still don’t realise how amazing they are.
“Life can change in the blink of an eye and these people were our angels.
“As a family we need them to know that what they done was huge. Thanks will never be enough.”
Mr Boyle lives in the Glasgow area, but had been in Aberdeen working when the accident happened.
It is understood he had only bought the car involved in the crash two weeks ago.
Last night his mother confirmed he has now been discharged from hospital, and is recovering from his ordeal at home for a few days before returning to work.
His father, Chris, also took to social media to express his thanks.
He said: “From the parents of Christopher I would firstly like to thank all who shared my daughter’s post and the reaction of all to help find this remarkable lady who I can’t thank enough for her kindness, patience and dedication to her fellow man.
“As I work in motorway recovery I know what was going through her mind and all I can say is thank you from myself and my family.”
