The funeral of a farmer who died in a freak combine harvester accident will be held on Friday.
Ian Chalmers was seriously injured while working in a field at New Deer on Tuesday.
Emergency services were called to the incident, behind the Costcutter store in the village’s Main Street, but the 71-year-old died at the scene.
His son Gordon described him as a “well known” member of the farming community, who loved nothing more than spending time with his seven grandchildren.
The “much loved family” family man also had four sons and a daughter.
His funeral will be held at New Pitsligo Parish Church at 1.30am, and thereafter Strichen Cemetery.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to Asthma UK or Alzheimers Scotland.
