The Post Office has revealed plans to relocate its Oldmeldrum branch to offer customers a more modern service.
The post office is currently in the village square, but under the plans it would move to the nearby Keystore on Market Square.
The move would allow customers to access services from 6.30am-9pm Monday to Saturday, and from 7am-5pm on Sunday – 51 hours more per week then currently on offer.
A six week consultation has now been launched, and local residents are being urged to submit their views.
Suzanne Richardson, Post Office’s regional manager, said: “We understand how important having a post office is to residents in Oldmeldrum and we are confident that this new modern post office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.
“This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and marks a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
Feedback on the move, and any issues customers would like considered before a final decision, can be e-mailed to comments@postoffice.co.uk or by logging onto www.postoffice.views.co.uk with the branch code 159801.
