Power restored to hundreds of homes in Aberdeen

Hundreds of homes in Aberdeen that were left without electricity for hours this morning have now had their power restored.

At around 7.15 241 homes in the Ferryhill Terrace area were left without power following an underground cable fault.

Engineers from Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) worked throughout the morning on the issue, and by 12.08pm every home had its power back on.

A spokesman for SSE said: “Our engineers have re-routed the supply to get power restored, but they are still fixing the cable.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
