This is the moment a man hopped a fence while leading police on a high-profile chase through an Aberdeen housing estate.
Four police vans, four police cars and a dog unit were involved in the pursuit through the streets of Mastrick at about noon yesterday.
Officers spent about an hour hunting for the man, clambering over walls and garden fences to track him down.
They also quizzed residents and searched for him at a car dealership at the Lang Stracht, after he tried to hide amongst the cars.
It is understood the chase started when officers went to execute an arrest warrant.
The drama unfolded in the Willowpark Crescent at about 11.20am, when the man fled and took officers along Mastrick Drive and Whitemyres Avenue.
He was finally arrested at East Main Avenue, across the road from Muirfield Primary School, at about 12.10pm.
The eyewitness, who did not wish to be named, said: “The man ran by me with two police officers chasing him, he then climbed over a series of garden fences and the police followed him over the fences and through the gardens.
“The next thing I knew a number of police riot vans and police cars swung round the corner and joined the chase.
“The guys on foot seemed to then lose the guy briefly, but it sounds like they caught up with him eventually.”
A police spokeswoman said: “Police were executing a warrant for an individual who was wanted in the Whitemyres area.
“There was a short foot pursuit and the individual has now been detained.
“There was no impact to the wider community.”
