A man has died after being found on a street in a Fraserburgh.
The 58-year-old, who has not been named by police, was found on Ailsa Court after collapsing.
He was believed to be heading towards local shops on Buchan Road at the time of the incident and was dead when police arrived at the scene.
His death is the third of its type this year in the town. In similar circumstances, a 72-year-old was found in a lane near Lochpots Primary School in March.
And in May an 85-year-old was found dead just yards from his home after leaving Fraserburgh Leisure Centre.
Last night, a spokesman for the force said that they were “made aware” of the man’s fall shortly before 6.30pm.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained, but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances,” he added.
“Police were made aware of the sudden death of a 58-year-old man in the Ailsa Court area of Fraserburgh at around 6.25pm on Wednesday.
“As with will all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
The call out was the first of two on a busy night for officers in the town.
At 6.30pm, police raced to Charlotte Street in the port after reports of a child being knocked down by a car.
An air ambulance was called to collect him from the North East Scotland College campus to take him to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on a night of heavy rain.
A spokesman for the police said that car involved was a Ford Fiesta.
He added: “The child was airlifted to ARI with non-life threatening injuries and the road was reopened at around 7:30pm.”
The boy was kept at hospital overnight for observation, but there were not any serious injuries.
The incident was described as not being a “hit and run”.
