Marcin Ciupa, of 45 Willowpark Crescent, Aberdeen, was stopped by police after they received reports of a car swerving along Westburn Road. When officers arrived, they saw the 32-year-old driving at 5mph, Aberdeen Sheriff Court heard yesterday. Ciupa admitted the offence when he appeared in court yesterday. A roadside breath test found Ciupa had 90 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 22mcg. Ciupa, who did not have a solicitor present, expressed regret over his actions. Through a Polish interpeter, he said: “I would like to apologise for my stupidity.” Sheriff Edward Savage said Ciupa’s breath test reading was “particularly high”, and banned him for a year. He also fined him £500.
