Hundreds of visitors are expected to take part in a heritage fair at a north-east country park this weekend.
Aden, in Mintlaw, will play host to a range of activities tomorrow for its annual vintage tractor working day.
As well as a selection of vintage motors descending on the park, a fair will be held in the central courtyard and will include traditional music and performances.
Displays on local farming history will also be on-site.
At Hareshowe Farm, within Aden Country Park, tractors from as early as the 1930s will again take to the fields.
Brands including Massey Ferguson, John Deer and Zetor have already been confirmed to be in attendance.
The tractors will both display and demonstrate how ploughing, harrowing, cultivating, ridging, seeding, rolling, scarifying and shimming were carried out in their respective time periods.
“Weather permitting, we also hope to have the opportunity to demonstrate one of the major tasks of the Buchan farmer’s year – threshing,” a spokesman for the park said.
“Other activities include a bouncy castle; Thomas the Tank Engine children’s train rides; and also the launch of the Aden Treehouse Project, where pupils from Mintlaw Academy have been working on a tree-house transformation project at Aden Country Park.”
Pupils from the local secondary school have recently completed remodelling the classic tree-house, overlooking a picnic area for families, into a tribute to classic book and movie ‘The Jungle Book’.
Last night, Aden Development worked Neil Shirran said: “Whatever your interest, the heritage fair, country fair and annual vintage tractor working day activities will offer something for everyone.
“So why not make a family day out in Aden Country Park this weekend, for a rare chance to experience the sights and sounds of Buchan’s farming heritage.”
The fair will run from 11am to 4pm.
