All train lines between Aberdeen and Dundee are blocked this morning after a train derailed.
The freight vehicle came off the line between Broughty Ferry and Dundee.
Services are currently not running between Carnoustie and Dundee as a result.
Trains from Aberdeen to Edinburgh and Glasgow Queen Street will terminate at Carnoustie.
Services from Edinburgh and Glasgow Queen Street to Aberdeen will terminate at Dundee.
A limited number of replacement buses will run from Dundee to Aberdeen and between Carnoustie and Dundee, but journey times will be longer.
Disruption is expected to last until the end of the day and customers are advised to consider making alternative arrangements.
Replacement buses are being organised, but travellers are being urged to consider alternative travel plans where possible.
For those travelling on the Caledonian Sleeper, buses will replace trains between Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
A ScotRail Alliance spokeswoman said: “We apologise to customers affected by this disruption and are working hard to reopen the line and resume normal service.
“Passengers are advised to check www.scotrail.co.uk for updates.”
