Police are investigating after thieves repeatedly targeted a family’s grave at a north-east cemetery.
The thefts happened between April and September this year from a gravestone at Portlethen Church.
A number of ornamental items were taken and the gravestone itself was also damaged.
PC Joseph Smith, who is investigating the thefts, said: “These thefts have caused obvious stress and upset to the family members who visit the gravesite, especially with the items stolen holding particular sentimental value.
“We are appealing for anyone who has visited Portlethen Church cemetery and has noticed anything suspicious to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.”
