A football fan was taken to hospital tonight after he took ill in the stands.
The man collapsed shortly after the Highland League’s match between Deveronvale FC and Cove Rangers kicked-off at the Princess Royal Park in Banff at 8pm.
The club medic Albert Cran left the side of the pitch and went into the stands to help the man while emergency services were alerted.
Paramedics arrived at the grounds soon after and attended to the man.
It is understood they used a defibrillator to treat him until he was taken away by an ambulance a short time later.
The ambulance service confirmed a crew had attended the ground, but would not give any details on the man’s condition.
A spokesman said: “One ambulance attended the football club following a 999 emergency at 8.10pm.
“An ambulance has taken the patient to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”
