An Aberdeen hobby group is on track to raise cash for a north-east cancer charity at an upcoming Aberdeen Model Railway Club event.
The 37th annual exhibition of the club will be held at the Robert Gordon University’s sport building in Garthdee next weekend in aid of Clan, which offers support to cancer patients and their families.
Organisers at the family event will be rattling donation buckets for the charity, and will also be offering free and discounted tickets to families affected by cancer in the north-east.
This year the club has assembled 18 model railway layouts for the exhibition – including a new one of the Stonehaven train station and its surrounding tracks – and has been assisted by enthusiasts from across Scotland.
And in addition to trains, the event will also welcome war games enthusiasts, as well as fans of Scalextric cars, Lego and dolls houses.
Tickets for the event, which will run from 10am-5pm on October 24 and 10am-4pm the next day, will be avaiable on the door priced £5 for adults, £2.50 for students and £4 for concessions. Family tickets costing £12.50.
