The driver of a prison transport vehicle and a inmate in transit were injured after overturning on a busy Aberdeenshire road this morning.
Commuters face delays this morning after the G4s van overturned on the A952.
The road is closed and traffic is building up in both directions between the A982 North Road junction in Peterhead and the A952 junction in Rathen.
There is a diversion in operation – via A952 and the A950 through Mintlaw.
Police received the call just after 8:30am.
The van is the only vehicle thought to have been involved in the incident and both persons travelling within the toppled vehicle are thought to have sustained minor injures.
There was no one else on board the van.
Both driver and inmate have been taken to hospital for precaution.
A police spokesperson said: “there are likely to be delays until the van is recovered and removed.”
