An Aberdeenshire dad-of-two has been fined after sending his former partner a barrage of 36 text messages declaring his love.
At Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday 35-year-old HGV driver Barry Thomson admitted repeatedly contacting Vicky Ellington by means of an electronic communications device.
Thomson, of 2 Fairview Cottages, Badenscoth, Rothienorman, had started a romance with Ms Ellington in December of last year.
But their relationship ended in late September.
Between October 8-10 Thomson sent the messages to Ms Ellington, who then complained to police.
The court heard that the contents of Thomson’s messages were not threatening or abusive.
Sheriff Alison Stirling said she would fine Thomson £100 taking into account that he had admitted the offence the earliest opportunity.
