Police are appealing for witnesses after two people were injured in a collision on the A90 Aberdeen to Ellon road earlier today.
The incident took place at around 9.20am near the Murcar roundabout and involved two vehicles.
Firefighters used cutting gear to get two people from their cars and they were both taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary shortly after.
Sergeant Steve Manson, of the trunk road policing unit said:
“A southbound grey Vauxhall Astra motor car and a northbound silver BMW 320 motor car collided head on resulting in the drivers, and only occupants, of both vehicles having to be cut free by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
“Both were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
“I would ask anyone who was in the area on Saturday morning and saw either of the two vehicles to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
The northbound carriageway was closed for around five hours after the crash and restrictions were put in place in the southbound lane.
Sergeant Manson added:
“We appreciate the delays the restrictions caused and would like to thank the public for their patience while specialist officers investigated the collision.”
