Police are appealing for information after more than 50 hay bales were set on fire at a north-east farm.
The incident is believed to have taken place at around 9am on Friday at Fortree Farm in Ellon.
Inspector Jamie Harrison, of the Formartine community policing team, has encouraged anyone to come forward if they have any information about how the fire started.
“This incident has had serious financial implications to the owner of the bales and this mindless act was completely without thought for the consequences,” he said.
“I would urge anyone who has any information regarding the crime to contact us, no matter how insignificant you think your information may be.
“In particular if you are aware of anyone who has spoken about the incident or who was found to be smelling of smoke on Friday morning, please call Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.”
