A north-east charity is appealing for help after it was forced to move premises.
Somebody Cares, which helps poor and vulnerable people in Aberdeen, needs a new warehouse after their current site in Summerhill Road was bought over by developers, who plan to build apartments.
The charity needs the storage base, which needs to be a minimum size of 15,000 sqft, for a one or two-year term.
Charity founder Jenny Taylor said: “We urgently need a bigger warehouse. The generosity of the people in Aberdeen and shire is incredible and our 12,500 sqft current warehouse is too small for all that we are doing and the new projects we are bringing in.”
In the past 12 months, the organisation has handed out 153 tonnes of food and a huge amount of clothing donations.
In addition, the charity has helped furnish more than 2,200 homes in the area.
The charity utilises the help of paid staff, around 120 volunteers, job creation workers and hundreds of people serving unpaid work terms as part of community payback orders.
