An Aberdeenshire student has paid for his education with a little help from his cat.
Fraser Napier, 24, filmed his pet Sox as she stood entranced by her own reflection in the bathroom mirror.
The North East Scotland College student posted the footage on YouTube, where it went on to be viewed over three million times.
After the initial upload a US advertising firm wise to the internet’s penchant for cats contacted the Blackburn feline friend and offered a third of a US cent – each time the video was viewed.
Fraser studied a HND in Creative Industries, specialising in television, after completing another HND level course in computing.
The £1,800 received from the YouTube video was enough to cover the fees.
Sox, 8, still lives with budding film-maker Fraser, who hopes to work in the industry on a freelance basis or full time.
A few more videos of Sox have appeared on the video streaming site, but none as loved as the ‘Ophelia of cats’ as one YouTube user put it.
