Tributes have been paid to a man found injured in an Aberdeen sidestreet who later died in hospital.
Douglas Brandie was discovered on the ground with a mysterious head injury at Shapinsay Court in the Sheddocksley area of the city.
The 59-year-old was found by a member of the public at about 12.35am on Tuesday and was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
He died in hospital from his injuries on Wednesday.
Officers are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and are treating it as “unexplained”.
They have appealed for anyone who may have seen Mr Brandie walking along the street from a nearby pub before he was injured to come forward with information.
Mr Brandie’s family paid tribute to their “sadly missed” relative.
A statement released by his family reads: “Douglas was a much loved son, brother and uncle. He had recently retired and was looking forward to his leisure time. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.”
Inquiries into Mr Brandie’s death continue and anyone who saw him between the Three Lums pub on Lewis Road and the Shapinsay Court area between 11.00pm on Monday, October 26 and 12.30am on Tuesday, October 27 is asked to contact Police on 101.
