The family of a man who died after being found on an Aberdeen street with head injuries has said he will be “sadly missed”.
Douglas Brandie was discovered in Shapinsay Court in the Sheddocksley area of the city earlier this week.
The 59-year-old was found by a member of the public at about 12.35am on Tuesday and was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
He died in hospital the next day.
Last night Mr Brandie’s family said in a statement: “Douglas was a much loved son, brother and uncle. He had recently retired and was looking forward to his leisure time. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.”
Officers are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and are treating it as “unexplained”.
They have appealed for anyone who may have seen Mr Brandie walking along the street before he was injured to come forward with information.
He had been in the Three Lums pub on Lewis Road before heading back along to Shapinsay Court, where he lived.
Anyone who saw Mr Brandie between 11pm on Monday and 12.30am on Tuesday should call police on 101.
