Teachers at Cults Academy were praised yesterday for their attempts to save Bailey Gwynne’s life.
Pupil Jake Oliphant said staff raced to help after it became clear he had been injured.
The 16-year-old said: “I was in a study class, I didn’t see anything, I just heard the sirens.
“I came round the side door into the maths corridor and just along the corridor I heard one of the teachers shouting ‘what’s going on?’
“Then I went to the toilet and a pupil stopped me and asked me if I knew what was going on, and told me Bailey had been stabbed.”
Jake said the teachers were desperately trying to stop the youngster’s bleeding, while others were trying to disperse the shocked crowd of onlookers.
“The teachers tried to keep Bailey conscious, while some teachers were doing that the others ushered pupils away,” he said. “I don’t think they really wanted anyone to see anything like that. It was traumatising.
“I heard they were all trying to resuscitate him and a few pupils were applying pressure to his wounds before the ambulance got here.”
