A man has admitted stealing a book from a city centre store.
Keith Cameron appeared from custody at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday where he admitted taking a copy of 1,000 Great Wines from British Home Stores on Friday.
The court heard that the 37-year-old had been spotted acting suspiciously by security guards.
Fiscal depute Sandy Hutchison said when they approached Cameron as he attempted to exit the Union Street shop, a large book fell from inside his coat.
He was arrested for taking the £15 item and was kept over the weekend in custody.
Representing the repeat offender, solicitor Iain Hingston said his client had been placed on a drug treatment and testing order earlier this year and had been doing well.
However, he said Cameron, whose address was given in court papers as Aberdeen City Council homeless unit, 165 Crown Street, Aberdeen, had been struggling to comply with his order in the recent months and had started to offend again.
Sheriff Mungo Bovey deferred sentence on Cameron for background reports to be carried out.
