Locals will get their say on plans for a new £14.6million replacement of an Aberdeenshire health centre later this month.
NHS Grampian is holding a public awareness day on proposals for the Inverurie Health Centre in the Garioch town on Thursday, November 19.
Health officials say the development will meet local demand for increased health and social care facilities in Inverurie.
It will serve more than 20,000 patients – making it the largest single health centre in Scotland – and will include community health facilities, a dental and maternity unit, as well as diagnostic and treatment services such as X-ray and cardiology.
The health centre will also include 38 consulting rooms and 220 parking spaces and be constructed on the site of Inverurie’s community hospital.
The public awareness day on the proposed development will be held at Inverurie’s Acorn Centre after a formal planning application was lodged last month.
NHS Grampian project director, Stan Mathieson, said: “The awareness day offers people an opportunity to study the proposals in more detail and put their questions and views across to the project team directly.
“Our earlier events about the site and evolving designs have always been well attended, constructive and provided some really useful feedback to the design team.
“We are committed to ensuring that we provide a facility that meets the needs of the local community so I would encourage anyone with a question, comment or observation about the plans to come along.”
If the plans for the centre are approved by councillors, construction could begin as early as next year with a view to opening in 2018.
The public event will run from 11am until 8pm.
