Police are anxiously trying to trace a north-east woman who was reported missing from her home last night.
Margaret Lancaster failed to return to her Tarves home yesterday evening.
The 52-year-old was last seen in the area by a family member at about 11am yesterday morning.
Police have described her disappearance as “completely out of character”, and they are particularly concerned for her welfare given the current weather conditions outside.
She is described as being 5ft, 6ins tall, medium build with short auburn hair in a bob and a pale complexion.
When last seen, she was thought to be wearing a blue v-neck top with white trim and jeans.
Last night, police and coastguard teams conducted a large-scale search of the Bullers of Buchan area.
Coastguard teams led the search, with crews from Peterhead, Cruden Bay and Stonehaven all involved in the operation.
Peterhead lifeboat also took part in the search.
Anyone with any information should contact police on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
