Plans for new homes in one of Buchan’s smallest communities have been resubmitted to the local authority.
Colaren Homes redrafted plans for the site at Crichie Meadows, Stuartfield, near Peterhead earlier this year and won approval from councillors in October.
Now, however, the Fraserburgh-based housing firm has submitted fresh plans for the authority to consider.
The only amendment to the application is that Colaren wants to switch two of the semi-detached properties set for the site to two detached houses.
The new properties would either be three or four-bedroom homes.
Gary Purves, who has been dealing with applications on behalf of Colaren for the site, said the request has been made because of a lack of interest in the semi-detached properties.
Mr Purves said: The reason for the application is purely down to market demand.
“These are two semi-detached houses that are proposed to be changed into two detached houses. There has been no demand for the semis, and there is a demand for the detached.”
A previous application for the site was refused at the Buchan area committee due to an outstanding roads objection. It was later resolved when the road and footpaths were widened.
A report said the changes had been made to create a “more desirable layout”.
The application is part of the overall masterplan for Crichie Meadows which will contain a mix of three, four and five bedroom properties.
Up to 75 new houses could be provided over two phases with recreational and healthcare facilities also being built.
Colaren is also behind the major expansion of Buchan’s largest village – Mintlaw – where it is hoped 600 new homes as well as facilities for the elderly will be created.
At a meeting of the Buchan area committee this month, the firm was boosted when councillors voted to rewrite planning regulations to allow the developer to decide the type of houses it would build at North Woods based on economic factors.
