Police have launched an investigation after a body was recovered from the River Don on Saturday.
Emergency services were called to the river at about 9am after the body of a man was discovered.
According to a spokesman for the Aberdeen lifeboat – who helped recover the body – they had been searching for a missing person in the river area.
Police say the death is currently being treated as unexplained and inquiries are ongoing.
A police spokesman confirmed the man’s identity would not be released until his next of kin have been informed.
An RNLI spokesman said: “RNLI volunteer crews were called out at 9.30am to search for a missing person in the River Don area.
“Aberdeen RNLI all-weather lifeboat Bon Accord, and the inshore lifeboat The James Bisset Simpson, were launched to help search for a missing person in the River Don.
“The inshore lifeboat searched the area around the River Don while the all-weather lifeboat stood to assist. The inshore lifeboat retrieved a body from the river and was handed to Police Scotland at Aberdeen harbour.”
