The Post Office has revealed plans to create a more modern office with extended opening hours in Inverallochy.
The post office in the village is in School Street, but under the plans it would relocate to Cairnbulg’s Main Street to share a premises with shop Loco.
The move would allow customers to access services from 7am-8pm Monday to Saturday, and 9am-8pm on Sundays – an increase of 52 working hours a week.
A six-week consultation has now been launched to gather public opinion.
Suzanne Richardson, Post Office regional manager, said: “We understand how important having a post office is to residents in Fraserburgh and we are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.
“This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and marks a commitment to no more branch closures programmes.”
Feedback on the move, and any issues customers would like considered, can be e-mailed to comments@postoffice.co.uk or call 0345 722 3344. The consultation closes on January 11.
