A busy city-centre street will shut today for the rest of the festive season to accommodate a new Yuletide attraction.
Union Terrace will be closed until January 8 for the creation and running of the Granite City’s Christmas village.
Led by Aberdeen Inspired, in partnership with Aberdeen City Council and Codona’s, the village will be open until January 3.
Diversions will be in place, along with parking restrictions for several streets during the period.
People are encouraged to use public transport, walk or cycle, rather than driving into the city.
The section of Broad Street, between Queen Street and Upperkirkgate, is for buses only northbound for the next 17 months.
Five disabled car park spaces on Union Terrace are to be moved and an extra one created: two to Diamond Street, two on Skene Terrace, and two on Rosemount Viaduct outside numbers 41 to 45.
