All school trips abroad have been called off until next year over safety fears following the Parisian terrorist attacks.
Both Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire councils have confirmed that children will no longer be travelling overseas after 130 people were killed in shootings across the French capital.
In Aberdeen, trips have been cancelled until March next year.
It is understood only one will be affected – a class trip to France.
One trip has also been called off in Aberdeenshire already and three trips will be affected in the spring.
No final decision has been taken over planned journeys for summer 2016, and the situation will be reviewed.
The decision follows Foreign Office advice to schools across the country to put a halt to trips to France until Monday.
