Traffic has begun to move on a busy north-east road which was closed following a four vehicle collision earlier this afternoon.
The A98 New Pitsligo to Fraserburgh route is closed at Longmanhill while police recovered a van, two cars and a pickup truck.
However it is understood officers have now opened one carriageway and are allowing traffic to pass the scene slowly.
The collision happened where the speed limit reduces to 50mph through the village and both carriageways were initially currently blocked.
A police spokeswoman said: “It was a three vehicle collision at around 12.30pm. Both carriageways are blocked. An ambulance was called after two people complained for pain from the airbag deployment.”
It is understood the weather conditions are poor at the scene.
The vehicles involed are a black Mitsubishi Warrior, a green Mazda, a red Citroen Vibe and a grey Renault Master Van.
No one was seriously injured in the crash.
