One man was taken to hospital after a bloody brawl involving four people at an Aberdeen shopping centre last night
It happened just before 5.30pm at Summerhill Court, Lang Stracht, as shoppers, including young children, looked on in horror.
Witnesses described seeing the victim “covered in blood” and staggering away from the scene, along with the other people involved.
Stephen Black, who works in a nearby takeaway, said: “There seemed to be four people having a right go at each other, two of them were women.
“There were also two Staffordshire Terriers, and one of the people involved let both of them off their leads.
“Thankfully they did not attack anyone, all they did was bark, but they were baring their teeth and the victim would have ended up a lot worse.
“He was bad enough, and covered in blood, and looked as if he was badly injured.”
Five police vehicles converged on the scene, and officers immediately cordoned off part of the pedestrianised area in front of the shops.
They began taking statements and were making door-to-door inquiries in the various shops.
As well as a variety of shops, there is a public bar, barbers, two takeaways, and a chemist in the centre.
An ambulance spokeswoman said: “We attended an address in the North Anderson Drive area and took a man in his 30s to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
“His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.”
Police remained at the scene for several hours and inquiries are ongoing.
