Two drivers have been taken to hospital after a head on crash on an Aberdeenshire road this evening.
Emergency services are in attendance after being called to the two car crash on the A947 Oldmeldrum to Fyvie road near St Katherine’s at around 8.40pm.
Fire crews from Oldmeldrum and Turriff are at the scene and have had to use cutting gear to remove the drivers of the pink Peugeot 208 and the black Citroen C2 that were involved.
Ambulance crews have since taken the female Peugeot driver and the male Citroen driver to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Their injuries have been described as “serious but not life-threatening or life-changing”.
The road is currently blocked as police await vehicle recovery.
