A popular Buchan hotel has reopened to guests after its new owners finished refurbishment works.
Saplinbrae Hotel, on the outskirts of Mintlaw, closed suddenly in January. However, husband and wife team, Noel and Joanna Gall, took over the property and launched the revamped hotel this weekend.
The pair have already built up a good reputation in the area with successful businesses in Strichen and Mintlaw’s Aden Country Park.
Selected guests, close friends and family were invited to an opening party on Thursday night for an exclusive look at the new amenities.
Then, on Saturday, the Galls organised an open house event for customers from their two other businesses – The Lodge in Strichen and The Cafe at Aden.
The hotel is set in several acres of picturesque grounds on the outskirts of Mintlaw.
Saplinbrae will reopen its kitchen under Ross Buchan, current chef at The Lodge and Kirsty Bruce, most recently employed at Aberdeen’s Chester Hotel.
