An elderly Aberdeen woman has died after falling from a window at a sheltered housing complex.
Police have launched an investigation after the incident on Friday afternoon at Brimmond Court on Balnagask Avenue.
It is not known what floor the 71 year old fell from, but police are not treating her death as suspicious.
Emergency services were called to the scene just before 12.30pm on Friday (December 4).
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We were made aware of a sudden death of a woman in the Brimmond Court area of the city.
“Inquiries are at an early stage and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.”
Aberdeen City Council housing and infrastructure convener Councillor Neil Cooney said: “My deepest sympathies go to the family and friends of the woman…It’s a tragic thing to have happened.
“There is never a good time for this to happen but it makes it worse with it being so close to Christmas.”
